Gladys May Wagner Coffey

Gladys May Wagner Coffey, 89, of Emory Church Road, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday (January 1, 2009) at Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was born in Russell County, VA (Clinchfield) and lived here since 1931. She was a member of Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Preceding Gladys in death is her husband, Ernest L. Coffey in 2000; her parents, Bige W. and Ida Blakley Wagner; six brothers, Clyde Wagner, Melvin Wagner, Cecil Wagner, Perry Wagner, Hubert Wagner and John Wagner.

Survivors include her daughter, Delores Coffey Wolfe; her son, Hubert "Herb" Coffey; two grandchildren, Danny Wolfe and wife Missy and Rebecca Bledsoe and husband Todd all of Kingsport; three great grandchildren, Reagan Wolfe, Rachael Wolfe and Zachary Bledsoe; a sister, Ruby Daugherty and husband Billy of Kingsport; three sisters in law, Evelyn Wagner, Louise Wagner and Alice Coffey along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Carter Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport, or friends may call anytime at the home of her granddaughter on Petty John Road, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, January 5, 2008 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Everett Lett, officiating. Music will be provided by family and friends. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be Danny Wolfe, Clay Gregg, Todd Bledsoe, Larry Coffey, Raymond Coffey and Tim Bledsoe. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.

Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Coffey family.
