Kingsport - Glenna Mae Hite Bailey, 79, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord Wednesday March 18, 2009 at Indian Path Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County; TN. Glenna retired from Hillside Manor Nursing Home after over 20 years of service. She attended New Life Church of God. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry S. Bailey in 1975; parents, Fleming and Carlie Jones Hite; two sisters, Margaret Pannell and Mildred Hite; four brothers, Clyde Hite, Fleming Hite, Jr., Billy Paul Hite and Ova Lee Hite.
She is survived by her daughter, Ms. Len Bailey, of Kingsport, TN; one step-son, Richard Bailey, of Church Hill, TN; two brothers, James E. Hite, of Fall Branch, TN and Donnie Mack Hite, of Kingsport, TN; niece, Teresa Powers; along with several other nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Ruby Templeton, of Kingsport, TN; a dear friend, Randy Davis; a special granddaughter, Journey; and her dearly beloved, Tristan and Topanga.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Friday (March 20, 2009) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport.
A memorial service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Richard Dice officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Kingsport Animal Shelter, 2141 Idle Hour Road, Kingsport, TN, 37660.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Bailey family.

LEN, WE ARE SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR MOM. SHE TOLD ME GOOD BY WHEN SHE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL ON 6TH FLOOR. GLENNA SAID THAT SHE WAS READY TO GO TO HEAVEN.I'M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.

To the Family,I was very saddened to hear of our loss. Mr. and Mrs. Bailey were two of the most special people I have ever known. I have thought of them often during the 35 years. I am so sorry about your mom. She was such a dear lady. My mom died last month. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. You were her angel and she was very proud of you.
