Charles Dean Dalton

Charles Dean Dalton, 71, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport.

He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. He attended Bell Ridge Elementary and Lynn View High School and was of the Baptist faith. Charles was the retired owner/operator of the Trade Winds Motel in Weber City, VA. He was also a veteran of the US Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Matthew and Ida Pearl Childress Dalton, and infant sister, Pauline and a brother, Otis D. Dalton

Survivors include his wife of over 49 years, Lorene Penley Dalton of the home; his son, Charles Kelly "Chuck" Dalton and wife Carol of Blountville; his granddaughter, Caitlin Priscilla Dalton of Blountville; two brothers, Billy R. Dalton and wife, Thelma of Blountville and Lowell T. Dalton of Johnson City; along with four nieces and seven nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport, or anytime at the home of his son, Charles.

Military Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport, conducted by the VFW Post 3382 and the Tennessee National Guard with Dr. Ed Dillow, officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:55 pm.

Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Dalton family.

DEAR CHARLES I am so sorry to hear that you had left us. But one thing that has not left us is the fun times that we had in the woods cutting down trees for fire wood. I can see the 1 ton ford truck that you had that we would put so much wood on that we had to take ropes to hold the rack together so the wood would not brake the racks off. I will also keep in my mian that we had so much fun together , As i thank back i had a 74 ford van that you and i put beds in so that i could go camping in and then when I got the motorclycl we went in and cut the middle of it so that i could get my bike it so i could that it to the beach one summer. Not only was you my uncle you were a dad to always there to help and to talk to. No one can take the times that we had i hold them so close to my heart I will pay to back by doing this for you i will escort you to were you will be there with papaw and mamaw. rest now uncle,dad for it has come for you to step down and somwone eles take the watch. LOVE YOU MIKE DALTON (CHARLES MIKE DALTON THE ONE THAT I WAS NAME AFTER. LOVE U......:)

I will miss you Uncle Charlie. I will alweays rember the great times we had together and keep them all so safe in my heart. My heart bleeds for the ones you have left behind to go meet you savior and all mighty God. I love you dearly. I will keep praying for Lorene and Chuk that they will have peace in all they do from here out. Lord guild them and keep they safe. I love you always.
