Wilmer Gardner

Wilmer Allen Gardner, 77, of Hiltons Virginia passed away on Sunday (October 25, 2009) of a pulmonary embolism at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport.

He served four years in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Gardner was a retired truck driver and was active in the Teamsters Union. Until recently, he operated the family farm.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Brown Gardner; a son, Mitchell Gardner; his parents, Albert and Grace Carter Gardner.

Wilmer Gardner is survived by his daughter, Debra Maloy; his sons, Jimmy Gardner, Mark Gardner, & Jeff Gardner; a sister, Jane Gardner Sapp; his brothers, Walter Gardner & Benny Gardner; several grandchildren along with a special friend, Mary Huffman.

At his request, a private memorial service will be held by his family.

Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Gardner family.
