Steve, I just learned about Katie when Rod called to tell me this morning.

I can't tell you how hard this hit me as I loved this very special lady very much.

My prayers go out to you, Kayla and Travis.

Steve and family, I wil never forget Katie, altho I knew her only briefly she always made me feel special. Both of you touched my life, there have been many comments made, Steve about the way you stood by Katie, and I will never forget how I first met you both when I ran into Katie's room to fix a pump, and you reminded me to wear a mask because she was in reverse isolation. You were sitting there faithfully guarding her. I am sure she would have done the same. I will pray for you, I really enjoyed the committal services. Sharon

Steve and family,

I met both of you when you were in our office (David Blankenship). I was extremely saddened to hear of Katie's passing. She was such an inspiration and I was truly blessed by having the opportunity to meet both of you. Katie was such a beautiful and special person and I will always remember her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

There's no words that I can say to express how I feel about your loss. Katie was an inspiration to me - God always put Katie on my mind when I was down and out all I had to do was think of Katie and what she was going through and know how strong she was - then my aches and pains were and are nothing. She fought a courageous fight and in the end - she won. She is healed - no more pain, no more suffering, just happiness forever - that is truly hard to imagine but one day we will be able to experience what Katie and our loved ones that have gone before us is experiencing. My prayers and love are with each of you.

In Christian Love,

Katie was an amazing woman who handled everything with grace and that big, beautiful smile. I am blessed to have worked weith her at HMG. I could only hope to be half the woman she was through all she and her family endured. God Bless Steve, Kayla, Dustin and Travis. Remember God sometimes needs extra angels. I know she was one here on earth. I can't wait to see what He has in store for her in Heaven.

I grew up with Katie in Sweetwater and played softball with her until our team just got too old to play. We had so much fun. I often still think of those days! Steve and children, I think your wife and mom was a very special person. Although I haven't seen her in years, I will miss her. She was so much fun to be around. Most people in Sweetwater have not heard of her death. She will be missed by many people.

It was a blessing and a honor to have known this wonderful lady. I met her at KHO while she was receiving chemo. She always had a smile and a kind word. I drew her lab specimen, and she never complained. I know that you and your children will miss her terribly, but she has her new body now and there will never be any more pain. She was my hero and I will miss her greatly. Love and Prayers

Kayla and Dustin made a place in our hearts here in Oak Ridge and Katie's fight was always an inspiration when we asked about her. Kayla, too, has been an inspiration in hearing her talk of her mother, reminding me of what mothers and daughters should be. The hand you held through so much God is surely holding now. We love you guys so very much. In our hearts and prayers.

We've known this family forseveral years. What strong, loving people they are. I can remember hearing Steve talk about how supportive she was in helping him persue his bodybuilding dreams. He always bragged about how much of a solid "rock" she was for him. Over the last few years, we have gotten to know Kayla as well. What a wonderful person she is. No doubt she was raised correctly by her parents. Amy and I truly wish you all the best. Your mother was a true, one of a kind type of person. God bless you all and you will remain in our prayers.
