Norma Marie Ratliff, 82, of Kingsport, died peacefully Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 12:55 pm surrounded by her loving family at the Wexford House.
Norma was born on February 2, 1928 in Browns Mountain, TN. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Norma will be missed greatly, but God truly has a blessed angel. She retired from Piccadilly Restaurant in 1990.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stella and Elmer Harris; three brothers, Bill, J.D., and Guy Harris; three sisters, Vena Amyx, Madge Barnette, Joann Ratliff; special friend, Norman Coffey; great granddaughter, Brittany Ratliff; a great grandson, Tanner Hughes; a daughter in law, Glenda Ratliff.
She is survived by her children, Charles Ratliff and special friend Carolyn Hicks, Shirley Hartsock and husband Ron, Ken Ratliff and wife Kathy, Pat Harvel and husband Tommy; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; sister in law, Madge Harris.
The family would like to thank the 500 hall of Wexford House, ER staff and the PCU Staff of Indian Path Medical Center, and Amedisys Hospice Service for their care and compassion.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport.
A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry Morelock officiating.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael Harvel, Greg Raleigh, Jason Mode, Christopher Mixon, David Waller and Robby Hughes. Family and friends who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:55 pm.
