Linda Rachel Howington, 61, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Friday morning, February 26, 2010, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.
She was a life long resident of Sullivan County, Tennessee (Kingsport) and a member of Feather's Chapel Church in Blountville
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Roberts Rachel and sisters, Carolyn Calle and Mitzi Rachel
Survivors include her husband, Henry A. Howington of the home; daughter, Donna Harrod of Kingsport; son, Jeffrey Howington of Augusta, Kansas; four grandchildren, Ashley Hammerbacher, Joshua Harrod and wife, Ashlie, Jason Harrod and Peyton Howington; two great-grandchildren, Kylie Harrod and Olivia Lane; a sister, Peggy Derrick and husband, William of Kingsport and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 1, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronald Manis, officiating. Music will be provided by True Faith Quartet.
Burial will follow in Holston View Cemetery, Weber City. Pallbearers will be Tim Lovelace, Joshua Harrod, Jason Derrick, James Howington, William Derrick and Scott Fife. Honorary Pallbearers are Jason Harrod and Peyton Howington
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 208 Sunset Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Howington family.
